Taylor Lorenz, Elon Musk, and Tim Walz’s Anti-Nude AI Bill

Taylor Lorenz is taking the side of MAGA and Elon Musk against Tim Walz’s bill that would ban AI being able to make nude images of people.

Let’s talk about it.

Her argument is the bill is bad because it doesn’t carve out an exemption for satire.

It does carve an exemptionfor edited images created with a service that requires “the technical skill of a user to nudify an image or video.” So this would not ban things like photoshop.

The idea that the bill is a bad bill because it doesn’t “have a carve out for satire so you can’t make certain images of Trump” is not a valid argument of why you should support Elon in blocking a bill that ban making nude images of people with AI.

The bill does not ban making satire of Trump, it would ban making satire of Trump that involve him being nude or showing his dick.

By arguing that we need an exception for satire carved out to make non-consensual nude images being made of a person opens a legal avenue for AI revenge porn.

“Your honor I made those nude images of my ex-wife as a work of satire on our past relationship. It wasn’t harassment, it was art.”

They are already making the images, they just need the defense now.

Elon Musk is opposed to this bill because one of the main uses of his AI, Grok, is the production of sexual images of real people. Scroll Twitter for 30 seconds and you see users doing it directly in the open.

Elon has already struggled,either through refusal or incompetence, with stopping Grok from producing child sexual abuse images.

Some of the images created being “new creations” (not of specific people), and some of child actors.

Many of the images created directly in the open on the Twitter timeline.

This bill would effectively gut Elon’s pet project, Grok.

Taylor doesn’t want this because she openly admits to using Elons CSAM machine because of the “ridiculous content restrictions in other AI models like Gemini.”

Those content restrictions are why you can’t make nude images of celebrities or children in Gemini but can in Grok…
